A webinar for veterinarians on implementing the latest research into nutrition and diagnostics is being offered by Mars Equestrian as part of its series of free Equine Veterinary Continuing Education seminars.
The session from 10am to 3.30pm on November 4 will cover research-based nutrition, along with the latest in laboratory diagnostics and clinical recommendations.
It offers four Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE)-CE credits to US-based veterinarians and veterinary technicians. The morning session will include formal updates by a panel of equine experts on clinically relevant diagnostics, nutrition and associated Waltham research, highlighting practical information that can be applied in the field.
After a short break, the afternoon session will look at practical case studies and how applying research advances in nutrition and diagnostics can help to improve clinical outcomes. Topics covered will include PPID, Laminitis, Obesity, Gastric Ulcers and Colic.
The panel of speakers is headed by Pat Harris, Director of Science for Mars Horsecare and a past President of the British Equine Veterinary Association. She is internationally recognized as a leader in equine nutrition and veterinary research.
Harris will be joined by Amy Polkes, an Equine Veterinary Diagnostic Specialist for Antech Diagnostics, Nettie Liburt, the Senior Equine Nutrition Manager at Mars Horsecare US, nutritionist Sarah Nelson, product manager at Spillers Horse Feeds, and Ben Buchanan from Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Navasota, Texas.
